View Full Version : From the Director's Keyboard: Team Work Makes the Dream Work

One of the things we often say around here is "Space is Hard" because, let's face it, few technological advances are quite as complicated as what space programs accomplish with their missions. I'm personally completely in awe of the ability of the Hayabusa2 (https://www.hayabusa2.jaxa.jp/en/) mission to first go to a tiny asteroid and rain baby robots onto its surface before collecting a sample it would hurl toward the Earth from somewhere beyond the Moon and from that distance somehow hit the right place in Australia.

These great accomplishments are made possible by teamwork that brings together thousands of people from a myriad of different companies, institutions, and universities.

As you read the stories in this newsletter, we want to remind you that space is hard, and it is possible because there are so many people working farther down the author list and behind the scenes. If you've ever thought you wanted to be a part of space exploration, we want you to know that in the crowd that makes space possible, there is space for all kinds; there is space for you. Together, we can explore the universe.
