Ok so yesterday for no good reason my backspace key decided to become sticky. This morning my roomie finally couldn't take my complaints any longer and decided to take the key off and unstick it herself. Problem is now neither of us can put the darn thing back on properly! So anyone have and tips as to how to stick a key back onto a laptop properly? Thanks a lot in advance.

When my cat flipped three of my keys off, they snapped back on quite easily. Can you tell if something broke when your roommate pulled the key off?

The website for your laptop might have an instructions download that talks about removing and cleaning keys.

of the 4 laptops i had replace keys 3 worked by a simple lift/click system

there are 2 levers the look like and X from the side
the back of the key has to small incarving where the end go, sometimes you need to click in one lever before the other.

just experiment

One of the little quirks of this board is that you need to put the sick smiley in as an image. http://www.badastronomy.com/phpBB/images/smiles/eusa_sick.gif

Never did find out why...

How did your cat get these off candy...
She has long claws, that's why she has her own kitty claw chairs. They weren't claw chairs when I bought them from Ikea.

She often sleeps on my laptop when it's closed. I left it open by mistake, stepped away for a moment, returning to see her make the leap. :o

laptop keyboards are far more easy to take appert then non-laptop keyboards,

keys on a lpatop should be able to e replace, while on a desktop keyboard you just buy a new one if some keys are broke.
