5 second google search (http://www.coinfacts.com/silver_dollars/seated_liberty_dollars/seated_liberty_silver_dollars.html) 8)

Edit: Oh, 1840-O

Hmm thats odd because everything I see (Including several sites that list the struck dates) the nearest is 1846 or Orleans

Every site declares the non-existance of 1840 Orleans mints

The picture is pretty clearly two separate coins, not the front and back of a single coin, so I wouldn't assume he's selling an 1840 O coin.

Plus, the text refers to the item as "a 1876 years US silver dollar coin."

I would be leary of purchasing this . . .

The ebay ad says 1 dollar though.

The ad stinks.

I chalk that up to the seller being Chinese. The header for the item does specifically state it's a half-dollar though.

So is it an 1840-O or 1876 - and is it a half-dollar or dollar coin? :-s

I'd be reluctant to bid on something whose description is that ambiguous.

I agree... Like Seanf said, the obverse and reverse are two different coins. Also, the seller only has 3 sales on EBay. There is no way to rate the coin based on the picture, and a rating of "pristine" is extremely subjective. Overall, it's definitely "buyer beware".

No one has bid on any of the seller's other items, either.
If it does go for GBP4.99, is that a 'real' denomination?
Love the hyperdimensionality:
"...The size of the item is: 1.5*1.5*0.1 inch..."

Reminds me that I saw on the Coast To Coast AM site a preview or recap of someone who does frequent traveling on the astral plane to higher dimensions, where in a tunnel he encountered some 7-foot-tall beings. That made me desperately want to know their size in the other dimensions there -- width, thickness, and... whatever all those other dimensions are. Why give only their height? Come on!

Estimated value of a 'real' 1840 Seated Liberty Silver Dollar is around $22,500 for a pristine coin.
