I have a fitness question. When doing situps, is it better to go all the way up or just a little bit of the way up? When I do the little bit of the way up, I find that I feel it more. It also has the added benefit of not having balance problems.

Crunches, only flexing the abs and not sitting all the way up is an excellent workout. Concentrate on trying to lift your shoulders up to the ceiling rather than taking your chin to your groin.

There are those that say that a crunch exercise has less chance of injuring the back than a full sit up.

(I'm not an exercise physiologist, this is just lay advice from someone who's done alot of crunches :D)

I know crunches and sit-ups are different, but I forgot what the difference is. I haven't heard the term sit-ups in several years.

My trainer makes me do crunches while lying on a big red ball. My feet are the only thing balancing me. Oh, the pain.
