SUMMARY: Astronomers are working on a new way to classify the objects that inhabit the outer solar system. Currently there's some confusion between comets, Centaurs, trans-Neptunian objects, Kuiper Belt Objects, etc. The new scheme classifies objects by their distance from the Sun, and then by the angle they make with the plane of the ecliptic. Hopefully this will help astronomers trace the history and predict the future for different kinds of objects.

I wonder if this is a way to de-classify Pluto as a planet?
There has been debate on that issue for a few years now.

Oh, that would just be mean. What did Pluto ever do to you? ;-) Even if it does get de-classified, it'll always be a planet in my heart.
