I think why so many people have problems with the idea of
the centre of the universe is because they visualize the universe
from the outside, however imagine that you are inside an
expanding balloon. From the inside of this ballon ,no outside exists.

Another way to look at the problem is: if the big bang is assumed
to have started from a point,then at that time there were no
co-ordinate references, so we must think of the centre as being
in another dimension.
