SUMMARY: Congratulations to China for putting a human into space; it's an incredible accomplishment. Let's all hope that Yang Liwei lands safely. And congratulations to forum member martha_sea who gave the closest guess for when the Chinese launch would take place - only one hour off... nice going!

Hi, everyone!

I am a Chinese Student now study in U.S. I am very surprised about so many people in the Forum talk about this launch. That is great!

Major Yang (杨利伟中校) will be back very soon. The moment of successful landing is real good time for us to cheer. isn't it?

The Langing is safe!

China's first manned spacecraft has successfully returned to the Earth with astronaut Yang Liwei in good health, according to Chinese news agency reports.

This successful launch would not have been possible without technology gained by very questionable means from the U.S.

what an intelligent post. The chinese have put a program together from scratch. They would be stupid not to use knowledge from other space faring countries. What they've done is damned amazing. There is no diminishing their feat.

This successful launch would not have been possible without technology gained by very questionable means from the U.S.

Countries need to share information, especially on science. Its the only way we'll ever advance scientifically. Sure China would have found it esier to launch a man into space than Russia and the US when they first did it, better technology is available, more is known about space flight, ect...

But only 3 countries have ever launched a man into space, only three out of all the countries in the world! So lets all congratulate China on its amazing achievement! :D

Now, when will Australia launch a man into space... <_<
