SUMMARY: Controllers initiated a state of radio silence with the Beagle 2 lander after it failed to report in, or communicate through Mars Express. In theory this radio silence should force Beagle 2 to enter into "Communication Mode 2", where it attempts to call out constantly throughout the Martian day. The best opportunities to make contact with the lander will happen on the nights of January 24/25 when Mars Express passes over a significant portion of the landing area.

Sadly, I think beagle broke up on reaching the surface.

I have to admit, I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I don't think we'll ever hear from it and we'll probably never know what happened to it either :(

Unfortunately i agree with you Dips, i think it'll be a case for future astroarchaeologists.

ahem still hope but it's damaged sure of course.

next time beagle3 must no carry only 3 airbags but more then 10 as NASA did. prick 1 leak then 1 of 3 protection is away, NASA model is safer even if some is pricked leak.
