Does the use of the term "entanglement" imply faster than light?

I think the story would have been more emphatic about FTL communication if they had demonstrated it. To me entanglement has meant faster-than-light [instantaneous], but I suspect I may be out-of-date on that topic now.

The technology looks like it is a long way off from teleporting my lunch from McDonalds.

I am not sure about entanglement. That is a term I have not heard before.
