i heard from many people that the shape of the sun is a hexagon and not round, one fellow who is a saint told me while asking them that
what may the shape of sun ? they replied hexagon.

Perhaps he was talking about the shape of that appears most often on the surface, as opposed to the shape of the object as a whole.

how could the sun possibly be hexagonal??? :blink: what, if any, physics would allow that?

As far as I know physics won't allow the sun to be a hexagon. The only thing I can think of that involves hexagons and the sun is when you see a halo around the sun, which is caused by refraction of sunlight on hexagonal ice crystals in the atmosphere.

Heliophotography has a lot to answer for! The poor chap may have seen some of these lousey snapshots where there are internal reflections from the lens causing hexagon star flashes and taken them for the real thing. Great art but crap science!
