While the discussion about terrestrial climate, and causes of change goes on, one may ask some questions.
Why do we not hear anything about longoing direct measurements of solar input to earth? One might think, that a satellite in some distance could measure changes in suns energy output directly, for deciding if changes in earths average temperature corresponds or not. Perhaps it could even measure directly changes in earths radiation? But it surely must be much more complicated, since we do not hear anything about it? Why?

Thank you Nyrath for these interesting urls.
My understanding was effectively that the "Earth surveillance satellites" monitoring the earth esp. re the climates are paying attention to all factors including the sun radiation.
It seems actually unclear to me if we have correctly identified the agents/causes responsible for the climate changes.... we always point to the -obvious- pollution and CO2 and others, however other causes and possible long term cycles due to external agents (the sun) or local agents (El Nino/La Nina, global effects of earth natural cliamte cycles, why not the tectonic?) may be of importance !
Don't know if there is a url/site w/ global objective discussion on all this !
