I counted lines to see how the discussion broke down:

31 lines - the **
23 lines - the BA
45 lines - Dan Abrams

Really good use of the time, huh?

Yes; rather ironic that the segment was titled "Face Off", isn't it? Maybe for full disclosure they should rename it "FACE of Host ON More Than Guests' Faces"...

Typical for what passes as news in the US. Everybody has just enough time to get their sound bites in, and then the camera goes to the next subject.

NPR is better with this--there should be a lot more discussion of the issues for the time given.

11 a.m EST=Diane Reem or Terry Gross? Some stations carry these shows live, some stations carry them taped, so it just might be on later for some.

Nice interview, I agree it was barely long enough to get much in.

I just had a chance to watch the clip (thanks Zeit) and something struck in **'s first set of comments that didn't show up in the transcript.

To my ears I heard:
**: ... They were suppos-a-bly two days into the flight...

Maybe I just find it funny after the TV show Friends made a big deal about it a few years back, or it falls into the same category as new-ky-ler, anyway I thought it was worth mentioning.

I caught exactly the same thing both during the interview and later when I watched in on tape. During the local news that night a news anchor also said "supposeably". Yikes.
