Well, it looks like tourist number two has been picked. One thing's certain. They certainly chose someone with an appropriate name for it.

Just when we thought we'd won the space race, we stumble in the "commercialization of space" race.

Think he's gonna wire up the place for Internet access?

Funny thing though, he's not actually going to be riding on the shuttle. He's going up in the Russian module. So maybe he really isn't "Shuttle" worth. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Interesting that there isn't so much flak over this one. I guess now that the precident has been set, there's very little to argue about.

Don't prices go down in a slowdown? I thought that's what the depression was all about.

Space Adventures said that Japanese entrepreneur Daisuke Enomoto signed for an orbital flight to the ISS, he was the young executive vice president and chief strategy officer for the IT company LiveDoor in Tokyo. It has been noted that Japanese Internet entrepreneur Daisuke Enomoto wants to dress up as "Cosplay Gundam" character when he becomes the 4th "space tourist" to the Space-station. This Gundam-Cosplay is a weird phenomenon where Japanese people dress up like Godzilla's much like you might see Western grown-ups dressing up as chewbacca's, green-lanterns, and Klingonwarrior Worf during their starwars convention or comicbook gatherings.
Space Adventures said Enomoto has been scheduled to fly aboard the Russian Soyuz TMA-9 spacecraft to the ISS station.

Wow. two old bumps in the same day...

Space tourist demands refund (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26889484/)

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida - A Japanese businessman who trained for a 10-day flight aboard the international space station has sued to get his money back, claiming he was defrauded of $21 million by the U.S. firm that arranged the venture.

Is this our first space tourism lawsuit?
