It seems that I can no longer edit my text or make characters bold, italic or underlined. I would like to see these possibilities reinstated.

For editing and re-editing your text, theres an edit button down at the bottom of every post. You can also go to your control panel. Its the link that says "User CP" up at the top to edit your options. One of those options is to enable the WYSIWYG editor that will give you more formatting options than you ever know what to do with.

Go to the User CP and enable the WYSIWYG editor. Also, you can still edit, but there's a time limit on how long you can do it after you post.

There is no limit

As to formatting another option is to type the tags directly [/i]] & [/b] replace the b with u or i as required.

eg typing to boldly go gives you [b] to boldly go .

Oh, you got rid of the limit?

And if you don't like the WYSIWYG editor or prefer one similar to the old BABB one, there is an intermediate level which is quite good: the standard editor.

Could someone please turn on the sub and sup vB codes?
They're nice to have for chem and math.

I looked through the admin CP and didn't see an option that does that. I'll do a larger search to see how I can enable this.

vBulletin's supported sub and sup for several years now.
here's the vB code faq for a board running 3.0.3 (http://www.physicsforums.com/misc.php?do=bbcode), which lists [sub] and [sup] tags. The tags are not listed in this board's vBcode faq (v 3.0.9), but I don't think they're add ons.
There's also a [spoiler] tag, which probably doesn't need to be enabled, but it might help in your search.

Okay, I've put it back to <s>err, I'm feeling guilty that you took my comment seriously.

I do appreciate, though, you adding these codes.
