SUMMARY: A team of European and Chilean astronomers have discovered several large clusters of galaxies at a distance of 8 billion light years which should provide insights into the structure and evolution of the Universe. The galaxy clusters were discovered by combining images from the ESA's XMM-Newton space telescope and the ESO's Very Large Telescope. Galaxy clusters aren't spread evenly, but appear strung through the Universe like a web, and so far it seems like the shape of these clusters hasn't changed since the Universe was very young..
