View Full Version : Kansas redefines science

Science has been redefined. The education board of Kansas has some nerve thinking that they have the power to redefine science! The following "definition" is from MSNBC's article: "Kansas education board downplays evolution" (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9967813/):

In addition, the board rewrote the definition of science, so that it is no longer limited to the search for natural explanations of phenomena.

On page two (http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9967813/page/2/) there is a nice timeline of Kansas' education votes on evolution.

This from board members who are pushing a predominently fundamentalist Christian concept (intelligent desing) when a Cardinal of the catholic church has spoken out against ID. (http://www.bautforum.com/showthread.php?t=34516)

The problem is that this definition has nothing to do with science, but rather the politics involved in part of science. Science is not about what you have decided is true, but rather the process by which you determine truth.
