I think we all are aghast at the way the Discovery Channel and Science Channel hype pseudoscience to gain an audience but something about the way the Court Channel is pitching "Psychic Cops" really bothers me. Maybe it's because cops can PUT YOU IN JAIL on the word of a so-called psychic? Maybe I am just being paranoid.......

To the best of my knowledge, "psychic evidence" would never be permitted in court.

if they were really psychic, they'd be there to either stop you from committing the crime in the first place, or get it all on film to use as evidence in court.

In Steven Spielberg's "Minority Report" they do both.
I guess that makes it Science Fantasy rather that SF.

It not so much that I would think that "psychic" evidence would be admissible in court but what might happen to that poor sucker who a "psychic" detective had a vision or feeling about and then the public who believes in the stuff starts to hassle him/her or worst has to get a lawyer to prepare a defense just in case.

Maybe the psychic cops only use their power to find donut shops? :D
