But wot are you, a really big island or a really small continent? Both. Biggest island, smallest continent.

(I am just asking for opinions, I have no interest in the correct answer.) well, you got it.

And wot's with New Zealand copying your accents?
We do NOT sound like New Zealanders, thank you very much! :naughty: They put "I" where and "E" should be, and "E" where an "I" should be, pronounce "cool" as "cole" and say "choice" all the time...

smallest continent.

My Geography teacher (who is Aussie) thought that South America was actually smaller than Australia. No kidding!

You're right, in fact Brazil is a fair amount larger than Australia.

Though we are a lot larger than Greenland, although it doesn't appear that way on some maps. :)

Don't forget "cheers mate." :D

And NO we sound nothing like Kiwis do... but if they keep on migrating over here there in the masses there may not be much difference to speak of (haha) in the future.

Oh I'm glad somebody mentioned the ashes (doesn't look to be a large number of supporters on this board :().

You guys have the best freakin' wildlife of any land mass!
I used to watch "Roccos' Modern Life" which featured a wallabee, he looked just like a kangaroo to my untrained eyes. What is the difference between a wallabee and a kangaroo?!?
Don't even get me started on dingos and dogs...

space cadet
2006-Jan-28, 06:04 PM
I think wallabees are small and kangaroos are big.

Dingos look like dogs because they ARE dogs. :) Mate.

teri tait
2006-Jan-28, 06:36 PM
Then why call 'em dingos?!? That question has dogged me for years...
;)

2006-Jan-29, 04:33 AM
Why call coioties, coitoies? ;)

teri tait
2006-Jan-29, 04:46 AM
Well that's an easy one to answer:

So that dingo, Wile E. Coiote, can have a last name of course! ;) Beep-beep

(Its actually coyote but I like the way you spell it much better:))

No no no! I think Mick sounds like Cowboy Bebop (Spike) only with an Aussie accent.

mickal555 Why call coioties, coitoies?

Just out of curiosity, how do you pronounce "coyotes?" From the way you spelled it, I'd think you were saying "koy-ot-eez" or "ko-it-o-eez."

paulie jay
2006-Feb-01, 06:10 AM
We tend to pronounce it
Ky-oh-tee

("Ky" as in "sky")

Champion_Munch
2006-Feb-01, 07:50 AM
Kie - oh - tee

There was a band called The Dingoes, who had a song called "Way Out West" :)

That is the only version I have heard, so maybe they changed it for the American market.

I hadn't heard that verse before. It was written in the 50s though.
