I just saw the movie Cube 2. I have not seen the first one (Cube), so I only refer to Cube 2.
Anyway, if any others here have seen Cube 2 also, what did you think of it? Was it supposed to be a hypercube with infinite versions of the group of people that was trapped in it, like a multiverse (with the "only" difference it's an infinite number of hypercubes instead of universes)?

And did you think the movie was interesting? I did, but then again I find the majority of surrealistic movies to be more or less interesting.
I didn't find the ending of Cube 2 to be very interesting though.

I have seen every Cube movie that I am aware of.

The Cube - 1969 (TV Show) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0291118/)
Cube - 1997 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755//)
Cube 2: Hypercube - 2002 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285492/)
Cube Zero - 2004 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377713/)

Loved them all -The 1969 version is not related to the others, but is quite interesting

To answer your question, no it was not a hypercube. Just one cube.

Edit to correct what SeanF pointed out
>So there is one more I haven't seen, but not related to others...
The Cube - 1980 (Animated) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0215688/)

Nethius, I think your second link should be this 1997 movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/). It seems that the 1980 animated film is not in any way related to the others.

I saw cube 2: hypercube on the Scifi channel a few years ago. Personally, I thought that it was awful and made no sense. A few weeks ago me and a friend who also saw it decided to rent the original Cube movie from '97 to see if it was as bad. Not only was it not bad, it was great! Instead of completely random events and traps, the original has people trying to logically work thier way out of the cube maze, and sort of going out of their heads in the process.

Later today I am planning to rent cube zero (though if it has any relationship to cube 2 I don't think I will like it.

I saw and enjoyed the first two movies on the Sci Fi Channel, although I thought the first Cube was a better effort.

Kari Matchett, currently starring in the ABC show "Invasion" as the blonde "hybrid", was the heroine, if that's the right word for it, of "Cube 2".

That's ironic--when I was in the video store yesterday I picked up Cube 2 and almost rented it, but opted for two newer movies.

I saw Cube when it came out on DVD; just saw it on the shelf, had no expectations, never had heard of this low-budget film, and really liked it. It was suspenseful and the soundtrack was eerie and intense. I like "puzzle" movies, but there's also something to be said about human nature in the film.

I saw the first on SciFi, and was fairly impressed. The only downfall was the inane predictability of the casualty list.

I agree with most of the comments here. I liked Cube and looked forward to Cube 2. What a piece of trash! It made no sense, there was no point to it. Ugh.

I stand corrected... guess there's still one more "cube" movie for me to see... Have you seen teh animated one? Is it the same kind of movie?

Actually, I've seen parts of Cube 2 on the Sci-Fi channel, and that's it. I've never even seen so much as a clip from the '97 original or any of the others. :shifty:

Same here. It definitely fits into that movie category of "Highly enjoyable because you had zero expectations". Once someone starts going off about how good it is, the less likely you are to enjoy it.

Felt the same way when I randomly picked up "Below". Thought that was terrific and couldn't believe no one had ever talked about it.

Below is just brilliant, I agree. Just make sure you've got a half-decent surround setup though - a big part of what I enjoyed was the oppressive atmosphere of the sub, and the simply wonderful mix really contributes to that.

Agreed. I had the house to myself, turned off all the lights and enjoyed the ride. Really creeped me out.

I saw cube recently. I did enjoy it. Such puzzle movies if done well really appeal. As has been said before you kind of knew who would die which did bug me quite a bit (so the ending was a little unsatisfying to me).

Id agree with the reviews of below. Me and my dad got that one out. No expectations but it was great. We were watching in a dark living room at about 1am. The atmosphere in that fillm really worked well. I seem to recall being wary about looking in the mirror before bed that night!
