This week's episode of "Enterprise" had a scene I found particularly eerie -- a spaceship undergoing an uncontrolled atmospheric reentry. It was complete with CG shots of plasma trails as the ship begins to cut into the upper atmosphere.

Poignantly, in the fictional case, there was another ship handy to rescue the passengers of the doomed vessel. Would that it were...

I watched that last night too. You have to remember that these are filmed quite a long time in advance of their actual viewing. It was an interesting coincidence though. -Colt

That's exactly what I meant, Colt. No way it could have been produced since the Columbia accident, so it was a spooky coincidence.

To add that it was shot in advance, here is the typical production schedule of Enterprise.

8 days of shooting, 1 month in post. this is not including preproduction leading up to the shoot.
