SUMMARY: Auroras on Earth happen when the solar wind interacts with our planet's magnetic field; electrons are accelerated downwards into the atmosphere, and we see the pretty lights in the sky. On Saturn; however, this process also goes in reverse. Most electrons are accelerated down, but others go in the opposite direction, away from the planet.
