For $34.95, send a piece of yourself into the cosmos (http://www.denverpost.com/lifestyles/ci_3575045)

Call it space tourism on a down-to-earth scale.

A gang of pioneering rocketeers from Colorado Springs plans to send snippets of humanity - specimens of people's DNA, actually - into the wild blue yonder starting later this year.

The fingernail clippings, strands of hair and other personal mementos will be carried aloft and returned to their owners for as little as $34.95 per item, complete with a certificate attesting to the journey.

EDIT: Started this in BABBling, decided to move it to Space Exploration. Tough call, huh?

Hey, if that is how someone wants to burn their $35, who am I to say, but that just seems stupid. Why would I want to send some little thing up 62 miles and then bring it back down?
