I have to write a plug for Google, though I don't work for them.

Many of us use Google's first browser for searching; http://www.google.com/ but I just discovered their web directory for Astronomy and its pretty cool. (I know -- some of you already have. I'm slower than most of you sometimes.)

http://directory.google.com/Top/Science/Astronomy/

You can also go there on their home page by selecting the "Directory" label and choosing "Astronomy." One of the more astronomy friendly search engines.

Also, back on their home page you can click over to their "images" label and enter star, planet, and nebula names, even labels like "NGC 3310" and get an image. (Which BTW might be copyright, so don't just use it willy-nilly.) Here's what pops up when one enters for example NGC 3310:

http://images.google.com/images?q=NGC+3310&hl=en

Anyway - I thought it was pretty good. See ya later. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Interesting. My website isn't listed on that page, but if you go to Google's main page and type in "astronomy", BA comes in fifth. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Gee that's odd. I haven't found it, but every website has a "contact us" link somewhere on it. Please let them know.

They should have BA on that page!
All the best,
Chip

Ah. My site is listed there, but under Astronomy->Amateur (where it's #1!). I submitted a request to move it to just Astronomy.
