NASA officials announced this morning that they were successfully able to restart the Advanced Camera for Surveys on the Hubble Space Telescope. It's not that big a deal - most of the stuff they send into space has a lot of redundancy built in. But it is nice to know that this problem is one they could fix just by going to the backup electronics.

Hooray for Hubble. What a trooper that machine is,down but not out.Why would you want to get rid of something like the Hubble when that baby keeps coming back and if I read the releases right she will be better than ever again! This down time gave the earthbound technicians the opportunity to do some upgrading that need to be done but could not be done because it required a shutdown.Voila, Madame Hubble comes through again.Lets keep this baby around until she finally gives up the ghost, which will be a long time because as she has shown again, she is one tough bird.
