View Full Version : NGC-5128 Centaurus A - Peculiar Radio Galaxy

Hi All,

Here is the latest image I took remotely from AREO 6(www.ras-observatory.org) in Queensland, Australia.
6" Mak-Newt scope & ST10XME CCD.
This is a 32 minute exposure in LRGB and several hours of calibrating and processing the images.

This is one of my best images of this Galaxy to date, lots of details in the dark dust band.

NGC-5128 has 4 very powerful radio sources lined up across the center of the galaxy..... probably from previous galactic collissions.

This is one of the most active Radio Galaxies in the sky....powered by at least 4 supermassive blackholes!

It's distance is estimated to be 7-10 Million light years away!
