That wasn't the test footage produced a number of years ago was it? There was a prior attempt to do a remake, but it didn't pan out. The modifications proposed back then were a lot more extreme then what is being done in the current re-makes. It's a good thing that re-make didn't happen in my opinion, the special effects changes were way to drastic. I like the current remakes much better.

I'm watching Doomsday Machine now, so far it looks like they did a pretty good job with this one.

it was very well done and yes I do agree that the other attempt (demo) was too much....the space sequences were the best by far.
