I subscribe to AstronomyCast via gpodder, http://gpodder.berlios.de/, using linux. Using the Enhance M4A link, http://www.astronomycast.com/podcast.xml, I get mixed results. Only episode 25 comes in M4A, the others stay mp3. Have tried resetting the subscription several times with same results. I subscribe to 8 other podcasts, only AstronomyCast seems to be giving me problems. Any help?

Thanks for the great astronomy podcast.

That's strange. I'm trying to figure out what you want to do. Since you're using gpodder, I'm guessing that you want the mp3 edition, not the m4a version.

Subscribe your podcatcher to:
http://www.astronomycast.com/mp3.xml

That will give you the mp3 versions.

If you do want the m4a version, we've only got 2 m4a episodes in that feed so far, all the others are mp3. If you want, you can download a few previous editions as m4a, when we were testing it out:

Hello Fraser

Have subscribed to AstronomyCast since the first episode using gpodder on my Mandriva desktop system. All episodes thru 24 were mp3, episode 25 downloaded unexpectedly as m4a. Gmplayer handles either and I have the bandwidth so when I discovered the enhanced format was available I tried switching over to that link. Tried redownloading via gpodder and episode 25 is the only one in m4a. The archive link shows 5 m4a files, episodes 22 thru 26, so was expecting all 5 AstroCast-xxxxxx.m4a's. Have downloaded these manually but have only watch episode 25 so far. Not sure why only episode 25 downloads as m4a through the gpodder subscription. Thanks for the enhanced format, hope you continue to have enough time to do all the extra editing.

No, we only put the enhanced show into the feed for 24 and 25, so if you want to get the earlier ones, you need to download them manually.

We'll eventually go back and redo them all as m4a, but that's lower on the priority right now.
