You know how someone will claim something completely outrageous, and the proof is always "they read it on the internet". Well, this thread is now a place to store all those crazy things, so you too can claim "I read it on the internet".

"Hey boss, did you know the average programmer makes $1,739,473.73 a year; yeah, I read it on the internet."
"Hey Mike, did you know that sheep hatch from eggs. No really, I read it on the internet."

Please, keep it all within the rules of the board.

This was based on a Reuters article from a while back.

"Hey Swift, did you know Queen Elizabeth lays 2000 eggs a day?"

I recently read on the internet that the net is hopeless at
intercepting physical letters?

nope, the net (http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/art2004/net.jpg) still has some potential for intercepting physical letters.

The net suggests Piccadilly Circus is the centre of the known universe.

My band was resident at Piccadilly's 'Callaghans' bar for over 10 years and I have met almost every tourist that ever left home. Most of them end up in Piccadilly at some time.

...Realistically, nothing we come up with here will ever be as weird and ludicrous as some of the things people really do believe, just because they read it somewhere, or because sombody they listen to said so.
