Hey guys,

I have an older Celestron Nexstar 8" SCT (purchased new in September of 2000) and looks nearly identical to this one:

After trying to fix the crappy aluminum tripod it's mounted on I've decided that I want to buy a Equatorial German Mount, specifically Celestron's CG-5 mount. They sell two different models of the CG-5; one's basically just the bare-bones model and the other comes with the motors as well as a Nexstar hand held controller. Since I already have one of those hand held controllers, would it be possible for me to just buy the bare bones model/motors and then just attach the controller I already have to it? Thank you!
