Just for fun I combined this H alpha image with OIII data I acquired last year. Astronomik OIII filter and unmodded canon 300D-same mount and scope

This was only 50 minutes and of poor quality -star trailing and noisy;also I dont have Registar so the alignment was manual, and i dealt with the different star sizes as best I could-but still, here is my first colour mapped image (OIII data contributed to blue and green channels, H alpha data to red and 20 % to blue-synthetic H beta )

comments and suggestions welcome, thanks for looking

I love the Lagoon Nebula. That's a gorgeous pic.

You made out very well despite the moon and wind.

I like both results. There is a real sense of depth and texture there.

Hi Seeker.

Both are exquisite, the detail in both the black/white and color photo is crystal clear infact flawless. If your attempt at capturing this nebula is poor quality as you say, please show me one better, because I think they are pretty Dam#, well pretty Darn great. Your work Rules

The recent Ha image went together very well with your older OIII, looks good.

I also love seeing M8 in H-alpha. I think that it is one of those DSO that looks better in H-alpha than in color. Well done.

I just got a Canon 350D modified. I think I need an Ha filter next, that should help with my light pollution troubles. Nice shot!
