Sorry I can't provide a link, but I read in a weekly publication that there was someone who thought the Apollo Moon landings were faked.

Weird...

There's got to be more to this story...

Japanese biker fails to notice missing leg (http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/08/14/japan.biker.reut/index.html)

A Japanese biker failed to notice his leg had been severed below the knee when he hit a safety barrier, and rode on for 2 km (1.2 miles), leaving a friend to pick up the missing limb.

Others with severed limbs have said they noticed little or no pain, including the Hawaiin surfer who lost her arm.

Summary...
House being moved.
Takes a different route (through downtown L.A.).
Wheels fall off.
Repaired...hits an overpass, now sits on a shoulder near the Hollywood bowl.
Vandals hit it.

"It's in bad shape. There is no hard-and-fast rule about how long a house can sit on the side of the freeway," Caltrans spokeswoman Maria Raptis said.

There's one house mover that won't be getting a lot more business.

Eh, if I were in charge I'd just throw up a mailbox and consider it a job well done.

"2 br. 2 bath house. Easy access to freeway. Covered lot protects from rain. Freshly painted."

A little creativity can go a long way ;)

A few years back, a guy around here was arrested for impersonating a cop in order to get free coffee.

Sorry: it's a CNN video link (http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2007/10/16/easton.pa.woman.stuck.suv.wpxi)

Anyway, an unfortunate set of circumstances?
Summary:
Lady hides under SUV to spy on husband.
Lady falls asleep with the neighbor's cat.
Someone slashes tire on SUV.
Workman hears lady.
Lady being held for Psychiatric evaluation.

There's a non-video version of the story. Anyway, I thoguht it was halarious (since no one was hurt). She goes to spy on the woman she thinks her husband is cheating with, and falls asleep. Worst spy ever.

The text story just said "the air was let out of the tires"; are you sure they were slashed? And either way, that makes a lot of noise. How did she not wake up? I'm guessing some liquid courage was used before she decided to initiate her spy mission.

My suspision would be that the g/f saw the wife hiding under the car, and let the air out on purpose. Of course, if the tires were slashed, I'd think that case to be a lot less likely. Could be that this woman is also cheating with another woman's husband, and that woman came seeking revenge the same night.

But for once, I don't mind the lack of information (and I don't think it's the reporters fault this time either); I like the story just as it is. :)

Don't know, the video says "flattened", but they also say tires (plural) and only show one flat one, another with air, but never show the curb side.

My suspision would be that the g/f saw the wife hiding under the car, and let the air out on purpose.
Mine too, but if the air was only the one tire, I would wonder why it wasn't done from the curb side. But, then again, I might be analyzing too much.

I just wonder about the cat...

I can answer this! I lost the lower part of my left leg many years ago. Beyond the probability that he was in shock, he may have been fooled by phantom sensation. I remember coming out of surgery and insisting that they forgot to take it off (they place a metal rod with a foot shapped block of rubber at the end of the cast to prevent shock). Feeling like I was still moving toes and seeing a foot shape under the blanket, I was afraid that my mother over-ruled my decision when I was unconscious. Anyway, phantom sensation never goes away, it never dulls, to this day I can wiggle toes that aren't there. That is probably a factor in this mans confusion...
