Just to remind us all that the astronauts are really quite exposed up there in orbit, a micrometeorite took a small chunk out of Endeavour's front windshield at some point during the mission - the astronauts just noticed it. ...

Something to consider when we go back to the moon, and then beyond.

Let's hope transparent aluminum comes into production...

I suspect there is less risk from debri on the Moon or on route to Mars than in LEO
