My attempts at getting Perseid shots were mostly unsuccessful and, since I used film, a bit expensive. I shot a couple of rolls of 400 ASA film and had them processed and scanned at high resolution at Samy's camera. They did an excellent job scanning what were probably very difficult to discern images.

I have two shots. One has a small Perseid trail in the upper right, but a nice view of Cassiopeia and Andromeda in the frame as well.

I took the shots in the Anza Valley, without too much light pollution. I'll write more when I get a chance to document the whole experience.

Both shots were processed in PixInsight, which did a great job at balancing the sky glow.

Thanks for looking!

(Full res shots available later, too tired to add them to my site tonight)

Hi andy.
A smashing job my friend. Is that M-31 you captured there along with the Perseid trail. I like your circumpolar trail photos they make me dizzy. Well done. Clear skies to you. Paul

I'm pretty sure it is M-31 Paul.

Thanks Paul, Efrain, and Tim for the kind comments.

It is M 31 with the Perseid trail. Makes me want to get a piggyback set up and take some real wide field images.

There is an M 31 trail in the star trails picture as well.

Clear skies,
