captured Vesta tonight:


The other two Galilean moons were visible very close to the planet and are blown out in this
long exposure.
My plans are to image Vesta over the next few nights and create an animation showing it's movement.

Technical details: Canon 1DMIIN with 70-200mm f2.8IS lens @ 200mm. ISO 400, 4 second exposure

Fantastic plan. Can't wait to see the results. I think Vesta is moving fast relativ to Jupiter now so good luck.

That's a very illustrative image.

I observed 4 Vesta and Jupiter using the ASH 17" classical Cassegrain and a fellow member's 10" Meade LX200 last night.
