The game is someone says a question of anything and the person who answers it makes a new question about anything. This is kind of like the thread I posted called are you smart enough except this isn't limited to just math. ok I'm first When they measure a TV how do they measure it diagnol horizontal etc...

Diagonal of screen.

(Do I wait for you to OK/negate this or do I just ask: How many covered bridges are there in Maine?

don't wait for anyone to say ik just ask the question telling you this for future reference.

Their used to be 120 covered bridges but today only 9 or 8 stand. I hope I was right and now I will proceed to give the next question. The movie Superbad what was it rated.

This thread has come into disuse, but I will try to resuscitate it.

Lake Tanganyika I will assme I'm correct and give the next question. I may be wrong there are more than one places called Tompa.

My questions are easy what is a solar mass?

Ultraviolet rays I think.

How fast do electron orbit protons?

You cannot be sure.

Your turn for the question homo bibiens.

Suppose a planet is a perfect hollow sphere made from a uniform material. Also suppose all other planets are sufficiently far that they can be ignored. Suppose an astronaut is exactly at the center of the planet, but moving at some speed towards a point on the sphere. What is the minimum speed he must move at to escape the gravitation of the sphere, and reach the surface of the planet (that is, the inside of the sphere)? Express answer in terms of radius of the planet, thickness of its crust, and density of the material.

I'll take your word for it, even though that's more like Atlantic in E & Indian Ocean in W. :)

My Tompa is at N end of Lake Baikal in Siberia.

You didn't tell us any of this. Do we make it up?

You can make up some example numbers, or give a general answer as a function of these things. But maybe it will be helpful to spend some thinking how the answer depends on these things :)

I thought my question would not be difficult, but nobody has answered. So I will answer.

A uniform hollow sphere places no gravitational attraction on any point inside the sphere. So if the astronaut is moving at all (so his speed is not zero), then he will eventually reach the inside surface of the hollow planet. So the answer is, if his speed is greater than zero.
