Hi everyone,

I just finished processing an image of M31 and wanted to add it to the several other wonderful images that have been posted recently. I was able to gather about 10 hours of data during the month of September. On the blog that is listed below, there is also a close up image that reveals more clearly the HII regions as well as hot blue star groupings in the spiral arms.

The shot is taken with a FSQ 106 with Astrodon filters and an STL 11000. The LRGB ratio was 140:140:140:140. I used all of the color data and combined it with the Luminance and used it all as luminance data before recombining with RGB. It seems to have deepened the signal. This is a neat trick Jay Gabany taught me.

Thanks for taking a look!

A wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing as Andromeda never gets much more than 10 degrees above my horizon.

Kind regards
Matt

Thanks Andy and Matt. Matt, I know what you mean. There are some objects I would love to see for myself, (ie Tarantula, Omega Centauri, etc). Fortunately, I can enjoy vicariously through the images of my friends down south!

Thanks,
Kent
