Using a poor mans version of remote imaging, I set the mount and scope 15' from the window and ran a USB cable through. From this position the only good view I have is to the south, so I thought I would get in a early version of the Horse Head & Flame nebulas. I used an Orion ED80 on a Losmandy G-11 mount. The camera was a Sbig ST8-XE imaging through an Astronomics 13nm Ha filter. Skies where clear and steady, transparency was fair.

The image is ten exposures of twenty minutes each. Acquired and stacked using CCDSoft and processed using PhotoShop 7.

Hi Bob and Welcome, You have a great shot of the Horse! Lots of details and whispery dust lanes show very nice. Great Work and Clear Skies

Bob,
That is one top image!
With Orion just starting to rise at a reasonable hour, I'm sure there will be a lot of budding astrophotographers waiting to snap this beauty, I will one of them, but mate you have set a benchmark. I doubt if I'll ever get close...but I will try.

Great image, the stars with your ED80 are very sharp.

Wonderful image. Ha suits this area so well and monochrome creates beautifully dramatic contrast and depth. I think this may be my desk top for a while if you dont mind.

Kind regards
Matt
