Space station astronauts will conduct a spacewalk on January 30 to replace a faulty positioning motor at base of the stationís two starboard solar arrays. ISS Expedition 16 commander Peggy Whitson and flight engineer Dan Tani will change out the motor in hopes of regaining more power-generating ability of the orbiting laboratory's expansive solar [...]

And the repairs were successful:

Two NASA astronauts breezed through successful repairs of a hobbled solar panel on the international space station early today during a high-stakes, riskier-than-usual spacewalk. ...

Peggy Whitson, the station's commander, and Dan Tani, one of two flight engineers ... successfully replaced the faulty motor. Mission Control followed with a checkout of the new motor and a resumption of the solar aiming. With aiming restored, the station's right-side solar power module began to generate enough electricity for NASA to proceed with the delivery of a large Japanese science module to the space station on shuttle missons scheduled for March and April.

I love the comment from Tani that the spacwalk would have to be "carefully choreographed" followed by a remark from a NASA spokesperson that, should they lose a bolt or tool during the walk, it would "cost them style points."

Tani is set to return on Atlantis in February. Maybe he's looking for a slot on Dancing with the Stars. Or has he already done that?
