We can all guess what would happen should a massive black hole drift into our solar system… there wouldn't be much left once the massive gravitational pull consumes the planets and starts sucking away at*our Sun. But what if the black hole is small, perhaps a*left over remnant*from the Big Bang, passing unnoticed through our [...]

Hmm, maybe this belongs on the Tunguska event (http://www.bautforum.com/fun-n-games/68706-tunguska-event.html) thread over in Fun & Games!

Fraser. Interesting simulation. A similar one was published in the Los Alamos Journal of Science, for a neutron star passing through the Earth. Earth survives..(but the crust melts, and it does leave a big crater)...and the star continues on its' way. A million times the mass of the Earth, huge kinetic energy and momentum, and it is unable to deposit sufficient quantities of each to totally disrupt the planet. Surprising also. (circa,1988?) pete.

Would a person who happened to be near where the PBH hit suffer any burns or radiation sickness as a result of the Hawking radiation emitted from the PBH?
