I know the universe is not old enough for this, but how would a red dwarf die?
Would it just gradually turn into a white dwarf? Fade slowly into a black dwarf? Or expand into a "dwarf red giant" perhaps as bright as the sun?

Recent astrophysical models suggest that red dwarfs of 0.1 solar masses may stay on the main sequence for almost six trillion years, and take several hundred billion more to slowly collapse into a white dwarf. -- See Stellar Evolution, Low Mass Stars (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellar_evolution#Low-mass_stars)

Thanks, Cougar! Never would have thought of looking there (why can't Wikipedia put that on the article for red dwarfs?).

Wait! It's Wikipedia! You can do it!

Although I do understand hesitation in that regard. I hestitated before changing the word molecule where the author meant mole. (There's quite a difference.)
