The International Space Station had to perform an evasive maneuver yesterday to dodge space debris from a Russian satellite that disintegrated earlier this year. Do satellites disintegrate often? It seems like that shouldn't happen.

I thought that was an interesting fact as well. My guess is just to be difficult.
