We're SO doomed.

;)

I had seen Gorden there before, but the G-Man... well we are well and truly fraked.

Hmmmm. GLaDOS' offer of staying in the Enrichment Center is starting to sound better and better (just played that game this weekend. Fun times!)

ToSeekd By Fazor, I'm afraid...

But glad to see you living up to your BAUT screen Name;)

That second picture looks a bit... altered. Anyone else thinking that?

The Gordon one though.. Man. That's spooky.

I wish I played Half Life so I could get a bigger laugh out of that picture.
The big blue arrow on the sign taped to the collider in the top picture is funny though.
Obviously the guy in the tie is a clueless admin just posing for the photo op.
"Only turn this bolt!" is my guess for what's on that sign with the giant blue arrow.

LOL- That little Sign is a bit too obvious isn't it?

I enlarged the picture and took a closer look.
Couldn't read it- what with it being at a funny angle and written in a language I don't know and all...
But...

It looks like it's the Torque Specification for the bolt.

I thought so too.

It is the G-man. They just had to photoshop it because the G-man doesn't show up on film.

It is actually altered, we found the original a bit later on.
But still funny.

How many hours you were playing Half life???

I was trying to read the sign too--the best I could get was:

Lock the Function, followed by a date.

The date appears to be 1/11/2008 which is the day after the "turning on" so I don't know what it's for.

EDIT: no, this month isn't month 1; doh!

It says :

Just hold the Torque near the nut. And it isn't a date, it is the charge if he undoes the nut. ;)

What is Half Life? Is there a 1/4th Life ?

What is Half Life? Is there a 1/4th Life ?

Half life in this case is a Video Game.

The half life of something works as follows:
Take half it's life time.
Then halve it again.
Halve that remainder as well.
Then the next- so on.

So "half life" is a bit misleading. The number that is the half life isn't half the life. It's much much less.

Hmm.. so there is a 1/4th Life of it's lifetime.

Half-life is what you have when you sit at home and play computer games 8 hours a day.

So, logically, a full life is what you get when you play computer games 16 hours a day.

What bugs me with Half-life is that the logo features the symbol for decay constant. I've been losing sleep over that since 1998.

ah--looked it up, the decay constant is the natural log of two divided by the half life--so one is inversely proportional to the other.
