From the people that brought you the X PRIZE and the Google Lunar X PRIZE comes something new that's a little more down to Earth. However they also say it's crazy. But if you're handy with a video camera, care about the environment, and are interested in winning a nice chunk of spare [...]

Fraser. Shut off all those headlights running during the daytime. If you're so blind you can't see me without my lights on, we get to burn your drivers license. Talk about a stupid waste of energy. pete

I just ripped out a video with my pal Bodhi for the X Prize Green Crazy Idea contest. It's at http://www.youtube.com/groups_layout?name=crazygreenidea and is titled Cheap Energy Production Using Open Source Methods. The subtitle is "We don't need no sciency fictiony energy solutions." The direct link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9TrwwCR2P4

I reviewed the competition's ideas. I particularly liked the one that would use wind generators on a car to catch the high speed wind flowing around it to create energy to propel the car.

Sometimes people don't get my humor. It is very dry and I often expect others to see the absurdity in what I'm saying but that doesn't always happen.

The same thing happened when I mentioned the military developing artificial intelligence in "smart" bombs and then took off on the next logical scenario, the philosophy spouting bombs of "Dark Star." Someone thought I was actually serious.
