Anybody have nominations for the Baddest Puns? If you've read BA's book, you've probably noticed the pattern of puns, which seem to end many of the chapters.

My personal favorite is on page 15, though, in the middle of a chapter, where he describes a struggle to balance eggs just before he was to speak in Massachusetts. He says "To this day, it's the loudest and most pleasing ovation I have ever received." (emphasis mine) Bad, truly Bad.

Bet it was a (egg) standing ovation. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I figured the usual yokels would show up. I can see at least a half dozen puns in the last sentences of the chapters alone, those are easy to spot. It's the intrachapter pun that might slip by ya.

Yeah Roy, eggzactly what I was thinking myself. I was just too chicken to say it first.

Not to mention the chapter headings.

Then we're agreed.

I was trying to head off a mad scramble to list the blatant ones--but we can include any that really crack you up.

My favorite is the chapter title "Phase the Nation".

The "ovation" pun is good. It's subtle, goes over easy, and you almost don't notice it.

Wiley, if that was intentional, good one! (If not, just claim it is.)
