5 Cosmic Events That Could Kill You Before Lunch (http://www.cracked.com/article_16817_5-cosmic-events-that-could-kill-you-before-lunch.html)

I haven't yet had the time to properly read it, but you're all welcome to go over there and nitpick (and advertise the BA's book which I haven't read yet either if you're so inclined).

Looks like their killers are sun-sized black holes, cosmic rays, solar expansion (that won't be for a while), galaxy mergers (what?) and dark matter ripping apart the fabric of the universe (what???)

;)

while i love cracked, when it talks science it gets on my nerves they talk about this stuff like its likely to happen! (i belive in "death from the skies!" phill said the odds of getting sucked in to a black hole were one in a trillion) also i never bought in to that big rip stuff

I did not get the impression they were serious about any of it, frankly, they seemed to be taking whatever theories they could find - plausible or not - and having fun.

Am I wrong? Are they actually trying to be for real?

I doubt it. Though, I've seen folks here in ATM that were apparently serious that were even more mixed up about the science than they were.

Oh, sorry. Was using the wrong abbreviation, obviously. I blame it on lack of caffeinesleep.

If there's a mod who wants to correct the thread title, feel free to.
