Well, pretty much what the title says. This article (http://www.lancastereaglegazette.com/article/20091021/UPDATES01/91021018) shows parts of the footage. Pretty neat. I'm interested in catching the upcoming History (Channel, dagnabbit!) special.

Well, that's it. Short and sweet.

What's neat to me, is the fact that it's European footage. History has had plenty of color footage from WWII, but most of it seems to be of the Pacific arena. It seems like whenever I see European footage, it's of Hitler.

I think this story started more than ten years
ago when a woman offered film of wartime
London to the War Museum here. It was turned
down because there was plenty of material in
store. The woman said it was a pity as the
colours were so nice at which there was a
choking sound from the official apparently.
The film was gratefully accepted. It was
carefully preserved and stills were in the
newspaper supplements just before a television
screening.

Black and White is just shadows compared to
colour where the Sunshine is so evident.

NatGeo has been airing an excellent documentary [Apocalypse], in color. It adds an extra layer of amazement to the WWII drama [though I suspect the footages have been colorized].

Germany itself was B&W until after they surrendered...

If you're talking about the film they used, then I'm afraid you're wrong.

Oh... couldn't you tell when I was joking?
