It's not that the galaxies are too blue or too red, it's that certain models are not getting the right colours for certain galaxies. There are also failures in the Dn4000 and H\delta measurements, both of which are common stellar population age indicators. This is of interest to me, so I'll definitely be reading this paper in depth.
