View Full Version : What is a Vulcan Administrator?

Why is it ToSeek the Vulcan Administrator? Does that give him power over the scanner thing on the bridge? Did he give himself that title purely because being an admin he could? Does it mean he doesn't get any for seven year stretches?

Why is it ToSeek the Vulcan Administrator?

Because he can. ;)

Yet I've never seen him act particularly evil; you know, other than by making me look stupid on occasion (not in and of itself an usual feat) by finding a way to post something cool yet keep it hidden from me until after I also post it, only to discover my thread is old-news. I think there's a term used for that, 'round these parts. Just can't remember what that term is. Hmm. . . ;)

I was the Yorkshire Moderator.

It was decided to avoid confusion that all Mods would just have the title Moderator.

Toseek being a Vulcan gets a different title.

No need to ask.
He's a smooth moderator,

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, western male.
Across the north and south, to Key Largo, bans for sale.

I was the Moderator Borealis.

I seem to remember arguing that ToSeek should also surrender his custom title but I was distracted by a sudden pressure on my neck and next thing I know, I was waking up in a Jefferies tube in my skivvies. I'm fine with it now. Really.

The funny thing is that ToSeek's title has nothing to do with imaginary Star Trek beings, but comes from his love of rubber (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulcanization).

Of course not. He only does that to Vulcans, and he does it exceptionally well. Have you seen any Vulcans around lately? The only reason he doesn't post as much anymore is that he's very busy listening for any sign of loud Steppenwolf (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJrjsfwcEXc) music. Prevention, you know.

The reason is actually very simple. ToSeek actually looks like evil Spock. Except for the pointy ears.

I think there's only one human being that has reached giganerd status. Bill Gates.

Of course all kilopis are by definition kilonerds. How many nerdy things you do otherwise increases your nerdyness. The number of days without contact with a member of the opposite sex increases your nerdism daily. But even if you do without for your entire life you will just barely reach decakilonerd status. However a really dedicated nerd can become a meganerd by the age of 18. But if you are not a meganerd by the age of 21 you probably never will be. It's not impossible to become a meganerd at an advanced age but people of advanced age still trying for meganerd status are usually called something else. I personaly got my meganerd status by 16:doh:. However I also got my 007 playboy status by 19:whistle:. You won't see many meganerds like me. Decameganerds are very rare. I haven't seen any here.

Nope, 12,000 posts. You're a decakilonerd. TooSeek, he's a duodecakilonerd. Though if his earliest posts are an indicator we should at least double his score for the too seeking he did. A quintakilonerd. Though as an administartor I'd say certifies him as a meganerd.

I forgot about the glasses. I figure they are so people won't know you are really evil Spock. You know, like when Clark Kent puts on glasses so he doesn't look like Superman. ;)

What is a Vulcan Administrator?

that's an administrator who can ask question someone simply by raising one eyebrow,
and can read thoughts or knock someone right out of the action by judicious use of his fingers ...

I tried the wayback machine, but haven't found an archived page with avatars on it.

That much I knew -- did the merger also happen in 2005?

(Seems likely -- I see the BA posted Sept 24, 2005 about forum rules, same date as the "Explain Your Avatar" thread that I linked to)

Then again, I'm a guy...

I though his acting was appropriate for the part. I can't imagine anyone falling for him unless they're susceptible to stray kittens.

Possibly the Not-Quite-Evil-Spock. Maybe the Bad-Boy-Spock; the Spock that wore leather and rode motorcycles.
