Hi Pete. I thought you were never going to speak to me again. :-)
Yeah London is having it bad this time around, we have had quite a lot of the white stuff falling here too (North East England), it has been very cold and now it is warming up more, I just hope spring comes soon, I love the warmer weather.
I hope the melons grow well for you, I have never tried glowing them, maybe I should.

*LOL* posting for England I think. ;-)

Thank you for your concern Pete, I hope you are keeping well also, nice to see you finally replied....chrissy

The winters never used to be mild, especially up here in the North East of England, but my plants have done extremely well every year.
My poor Calla lily is getting confused with this strange weather and is only now taking off growing when it should be going back now!!!
  4. Chrissy. You are welcome. As a gardener, the British have an enviable climate with cool summers, and mild winters...nice.

    hello trinitree....
yeah, i miss Candy too. a lot.
tried to get in touch with her around her birthday...but she's not responded. may be her blog is de-activated...if that's ever possible.

i notice that you registered here on her birthday! ha!
i miss her. she's a real funny lady. great sense of humour. i gather she's got her Master's now. good for her. bless her, she did turn up for dear Mak's, even though she had to tweak herself (brave and cheeky thing...) in somehow.

nice to hear from you. didn't realise you have such an avid interest in gardening? great. now you can be our resident gardening guru! ah! i see, hence your user id at's taken me a few years to 'twig' it! there's programme on BBC Radio 4, transmitted every sunday afternoon...called Gardeners' Question Time, very informative and fun to listen to. i try to, as much as i can.

BAUT is richly sprinkled with immense talent. it's good to be here. and good to know you.

    take care. best regards.
  7. chrissy, if you cut back your jasmine, cut about half of it, let it begin to sprout out again...then cut the other half back by the same amount. That way a little less shock to a mature plant. Like people, they get a little set in their ways. You're welcome. pete
  8. hey, mahesh. Long time no see. I still miss Candy...she was a funny, human touch to the forum. How's things by you?

I am just wondering if I should cut it back a bit this Autumn as it has spread about 14ft or is it better to leave it?
It has been doing very well and flowers like crazy, the smell in my garden is wonderful and when it rains it is stronger, I am amazed how well it is doing considering where I live in the North East of England.
    Thanks Pete.
