Right. Since the other attempts at starting such a thread all got derailed beyond recognition, and there's starting to be a real need to get this written down in one place, let's try this one last time.

Let's try to keep the chat to a minimum in this thread.

To recap:

projectorion and sock wayne_smith banned for repeated offenses.

Zarkov for violating the "be nice" rule.

superthusnap1, for spam. Post and member have been removed (removing members? Strange...).

We don't remove members, since that's how we keep them banned. But we will remove all evidence of SPAM posts, since all they want is for people to see whatever it is they're advertising.

remcelwaine for spamming. (Post removed.)

Perfect. But why can't I find superthusnap in the member's list?

I think that's the best solution. We can provide the banned person's id, the reason for their banning, and a link to the thread where we dropped the hammer. We'll close the thread, so only moderators can post to it.

Ok, I've closed this thread and removed the chit-chat. I think I made it a sticky too, but if not can someone correct that please.

Also, while this is a closed topic, admins and mods will continue to post here when a ban has occurred.

I have just banned user "sleepycell" for 24 hours. He came on and was very rude. He wouldn't take ToSeek's suggestions to play nice.

BlackStar was banned for making this post after being told to avoid making controversial religious comments. He returned as Blacksheep on this thread asking why he was banned and being obnoxious about it.

Michael Mozina's account has been suspended for 24 hours for violation of forum rules.

hamops (a.k.a. Pavel Smutny) has been banned for repeated attempts at hijacking various unrelated threads to posit his "Planet X" claims.

coolfckedman2 banned for obscene spamming.

Mosheh Thezion has been banned for continued abuse of the Alternative Concepts section of the FAQ and ignoring admin/moderator warnings issued in that regard.

Jeff Root's account was suspended (the afternoon of 10/6) for 24 hours due to an ad-hominem attack on Michael Mozina, in this thread.

Maddad suspended for 24 hours for calling people idiotic, stupid, and unwilling to think.

dirkbontes has been permanently banned for repeated rude behavior, after having been giving repeated warnings which were not heeded.

Simtom banned for total lack of willingness to follow the rules of the board. See this thread for examples.

Joeblake has been banned for sock puppetry.

dgoodpasture2005 has been banned for multiple rule violations and ignoring the warning issued in that regard.

Maddad banned for a week for a second instance of lack of proper consideration.

bag1881 has been banned for spamming.

bonzelite has been banned for repeated rules violation.

Huevos Grandes' account has been suspended for 24 hours for FAQ violation.

pacal has been banned; this was another incarnation of the previously banned hamops.

rescu is another sock puppet of hamops, and has been banned.

Sam5 banned for 48 hours for gross incivility on this thread.

- refusal to back up claims, most notably here.
